1. What is an inverter?
Inverter is a device that converts direct current electricity to alternating current either for stand-alone systems or to supply power to an electricity grid. Power inverters are either 100% electronic or they could be a combination of mechanical components such as rotary equipment and electronic circuitry.
2. Can I leave my Shihlin inverter on all the time?
If the converter and inverter functions are all combined in one unit, you can leave it on unless keeping the batteries from completely discharging is important, then shut the inverter off. Converting 12V battery voltage to 120V AC power discharges batteries, it does not change a battery.
3. How many types of inverter are there?
